Jockey Distress Fund Luncheon
The who's who of the Queensland racing industry gathered for the inaugural Queensland Jockeys Association Distress Fund Luncheon at the Pineapple Hotel.
The Pineapple Hotel turned it on once more serving up sumptuous seafood platters and a free flowing supply of XXXX beverages.
Jim Byrne and Shane Scriven were on hand to provide insight into their careers that included stints in Macau, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia, riding legends of the turf that included Gold Edition, Rough Habit, Bucks Pride and General Nediym.
Apache Cat assistant trainer John Baker was also on hand to provide some insight into the $1.45 favourite for the Group 1 BTC Cup at City Pacific Doomben this Saturday.
$10,000 was raised on the day, which is credit to supporters of the Queensland racing industry.
