Mortgage Mart’s Inaugural race day was held at Doomben in the scenic Chief De Beers Room.
Race Caller Steve Hawkins allowed private access for a few select guests throughout the day to listen to a graphic description of his live call of the race from the broadcast box. Steve took time out prior to the start of the race to allow guests to ask questions about his role on the day.
Jockey Jason Holder had a luckless day however found time to come and talk to the 115 guests at the Mortgage Mart Private Function and provide them with and insight into a day in the life of a jockey.
All guests got up close and personal for Race 3 as they were treated to a tour of the starting barriers and witnessed jockey Scott Seamer take a tumble from his mount as the horse was loading into the starting barrier.
MC Cameron Partington provided entertainment for guests throughout the day with a Punters Club and Trivia questions with winners receiving entry into various sweeps.
Greg Walters, Managing Director or Mortgage Mart commented on what a great day had been had by guests, staff and supporters of Mortgage Mart.
