Aka Shines at the Valley
Jason Akermanis' 51 consecutive betting loss record came to an end at Moonee Valley on Friday night with thanks to ANZ Mortgage Solutions.
The Cox Plate Room at Moonee Valley was the place to be for the ANZ Mortgage Solutions Race Night. The event was hosted by Gold Coast Race Caller Steve Hawkins.
Guest of honour Jason Akermanis entertained guests and also went on to collect on a 60/1 winner and two 35/1 winners, walking away with over $1800 for his $20 bets. Jason, during his interview had mentioned that he had not won on the horses for over 51 races. Akermanis has two years to run on his contract with the Western Bulldogs and commented that he is keen to pursue a coaching career after he hangs up the boots.
Steve Hawkins commented "I have interviewed a number of sporting personalities over the past 12 years and would rate Akermanis in the top 4".
